Minor Works Service

Some jobs around the home are bigger than what our Handyperson Service can cover, this is where our Minor Works Service comes in. A member of our team will visit your home, assess what is required and offer recommendations. We will send a no obligation quote with details of the work requested, (we advise you to get at least two other quotes) which is subject to a 14-day cooling-off period on acceptance.

Examples of minor works that we regularly undertake are:

  • Relaying flags and paths to prevent trips/falls
  • Installing temporary ramps or additional steps to improve access
  • Replacing gates
  • Small areas of fencing to improve the security of a property

There are many other kinds of work that we can do too, please contact us for more information and advice.

Adaptations Service

We arrange housing adaptations to help you be more independent at home. Specifically, the delivery of design, specification, project management and associated technical support services for adaptations.
We specialise in keeping you safe and out of hospital through custom home adaptations designed to keep you safe, secure, warm, and independent in your own home.
A technical officer will visit you at home to assess the work and explain the different options available to you. This initial advice and support is always free.
If you would like us to manage your adaptation or repair work for you, our team of caseworkers and technical officers can oversee and project manage work for you, relieving you of the stress and anxiety of organising the work yourself. They will plan the work, agree costs and liaise with the contractors to ensure the work is done properly. This service is chargeable, we will always provide a no obligation, written quotation at the start of the project.
Our caseworkers can advise you about government grants or benefits to help pay for the work and tell you about other organisations that may be able to help you financially.

The types of work we can help with include:

  • Bathroom adaptations (level access showers, baths)
  • Kitchen adaptations (low level units and equipment, gas/water shut off, non-slip flooring, etc)
  • External adaptations (low level lighting, surface levelling, modular/fixed ramps, half steps, rails)
  • Door widening
  • Stairlifts and lifting equipment (stair lifts, through-floor lifts, ceiling hoists, bath hoists), Extensions
  • Conversions
